2022 Topps x Nashville Stars

Topps has, once again, teamed up with Music City Baseball and the Negro League Baseball Museum to issue a series of cards highlighting artists who support this worthy cause - pursuing to become the first MLB franchise to honor a team name from the Negro Leagues.

MLB recognized the Negro Leagues as a Major League in late 2020, but we see the need for the Nashville Stars to take the field once again, at the highest level of professional baseball. Because through our National Pastime, we can continue to build bridges for a better, more equitable society for all.

As afternoon host of The Highway and Friday’s Music Row Happy Hour, Buzz Brainard has debuted more than a few country music hitmakers. His deep appreciation for country harks back to hours of listening to Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, and Roger Miller records from his father’s collection and extends to the up-and-coming artists he showcases. Along the way, Brainard blazed a colorful trail from his roots in the Great Lakes State to his landing spot in Nashville with stints as an announcer on the Disney Channel, host of This Week in Baseball, and the voice of Rotor the Walrus on Sonic the Hedgehog.
