Michael Brandstaedter

President and Chief Executive Officer of the Topps Company, Mr. Brandstaedter oversees the Company's valuable portfolio of assets including the leading sports and entertainment trading card company, a dominant kids confectionery business, the collection of wholly owned media properties and newly created or acquired digital businesses.  Mr. Brandstaedter joined Topps in 2009 as the General Manager of Global Confectionery responsible for worldwide Bazooka Candy Brands, the confectionery division of Topps, and led all aspects of marketing, product development, sales, finance and operations.  Previously, Mr. Brandstaedter worked in brand management roles at Kraft Foods and Nabisco, running various businesses in the Snacks and Confections categories.  A native of New York, Mr. Brandstaedter has a B.S. in Applied Economics from Cornell University and M.B.A. from the University of Michigan, Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

John Mueller

Chief Financial Officer of The Topps Company, Mr. Mueller oversees all accounting and finance matters including reporting, tax compliance, cash management, planning and analysis.  Mr. Mueller joined Topps in 2014 from XO Group where he was Chief Financial Officer and managed financial reporting and operations including development of sales incentive plans, international expansion into China and long-term financial planning.  Mr. Mueller joined XO Group in 2008 from Genius Products, Inc., where he also served as Chief Financial Officer.  Mr. Mueller brings extensive prior investment banking experience providing strategic financial advisory services on mergers, acquisitions and equity and debt offerings for entertainment and media clients. Mr. Mueller held positions as a Senior Vice President for Jefferies & Company, Inc., Director of Media Investment Banking at Credit Suisse and Vice President at Société Générale.  Mr. Mueller began his career in finance working for Fortune 500 consumer packaged goods company, Kimberly-Clark Corporation.  Mr. Mueller has a B.S. in Business Administration & Management from the University of Minnesota and M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Jason Thaler

General Counsel of the Topps Company, Mr. Thaler is the principal legal officer overseeing all aspects of Topps’ legal affairs, human resources, global offices and real estate matters.  Mr. Thaler joined Topps in 2012 with over 20 years of in-house and law firm experience focusing on corporate governance, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, contracts and compliance.  Mr. Thaler provides and supervises the provision of comprehensive legal counsel to all of Topps’ global business units related to license and commercial contract negotiations, strategic acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, financial structuring and litigation strategies.  Mr. Thaler also serves as Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors.  Prior to joining Topps, Mr. Thaler was General Counsel and Secretary for Equinox Fitness where he provided legal counsel to all business divisions including Equinox, SoulCycle, Blink and Pure Yoga and Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at PRIMEDIA, Inc. for several years.  Mr. Thaler began his career as an Associate in Mergers & Acquisitions at Shearman and Sterling LLP in New York, New York, continued as a Judicial Law Clerk under a United States District Judge in the South District of Florida and later as a Corporate/Securities Associate at Greenberg Traurig, P.A. in Miami, Florida.  Mr. Thaler has a B.A. in Business Administration from the University at Albany and J.D. from Fordham University.

Topps Sports & Entertainment

David Leiner

Global General Manager of Sports & Entertainment, Mr. Leiner is responsible for leading and directing the business strategy and operations for Topps’ worldwide Sports & Entertainment division.  Mr. Leiner joined Topps’ North America Sports & Entertainment division in 2009 and most recently held the position of Vice President, General Manager of North America Sports & Entertainment overseeing all business operations, product development, marketing, sales, licensing and financial activities.  Mr. Leiner also held the role of Vice President of Finance and Operations in North America Sports & Entertainment with responsibility for all financial matters and managing all aspects of operations including sourcing, manufacturing, customer service and player licensing.  Prior to joining Topps, Mr. Leiner worked for Madison Dearborn Partners as an Associate, responsible for evaluating new growth equity and leverage buyout transactions globally and managing existing investments, including the Topps Company investment. Before joining Madison Dearborn Partners in 2007, Mr. Leiner worked as an analyst for Goldman Sachs in its Investment Banking Division.  Mr. Leiner has a B.S. in Business Administration, Finance & Accounting from Indiana University Bloomington.

Bazooka Candy Brands Confectionery

Tony Jacobs

President, General Manager of Global Confectionery, Mr. Jacobs is responsible for worldwide Bazooka Candy Brands, the confectionery division of Topps, and leads all aspects of marketing, product development, sales, finance and operations.  Prior to joining Topps in 2013, Mr. Jacobs was with the Dr Pepper Snapple Group, most recently as Senior Vice President of Marketing.  During his time at the Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Mr. Jacobs led marketing for the company’s Carbonated Soft Drink Portfolio which includes brands such as Dr Pepper, 7UP, Sunkist, Crush, Canada Dry, Schweppes and A&W.  Prior to the Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Mr. Jacobs worked in brand management roles at Unilever in the Home and Personal Care Division and at Nabisco in the Life Savers Candy Division.  Mr. Jacobs has a B.A. from The George Washington University and M.B.A. from The University of Virginia, Darden School of Business.

Tobin Lent

Vice President General Manager of Topps Digital, Mr. Lent is responsible for setting the vision and overseeing all activities related to Topps’ digital business.  Joining Topps in 2018, Mr. Lent has over 20 years of experience growing start-up mobile entertainment and game companies, creating 50 products with over 60 million cumulative downloads garnering several industry awards.  Mr. Lent was previously the CEO & Co-Founder of Punch Entertainment, an award-winning mobile games developer and publisher backed by IDG & Softbank and acquired by DeNA.  Mr. Lent was also President of Rogue Play, a mobile games publisher that launched high-profile licensed titles such as Godzilla based on the Warner Bros. movie and CEO of Playabl AI which created lifelike AI characters for the entertainment industry.  Mr. Lent has also been an executive advisor to mobile entertainment start-ups such as Dash Robotics, Opera Event and Bound. Throughout his career, Mr. Lent has created several chart-topping mobile products based on major licensed properties in sports (NFL, NBA, NHL & MLB) and entertainment (Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Tron & Harry Potter, among others). Before starting a career in mobile entertainment, Mr. Lent was an investment banker at Dain Rauscher Wessels focused on mergers, acquisitions and private capital. Mr. Lent has a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University.

Jeff Mickeal

General Manager of Topps Digital Services, Mr. Mickeal joined Topps in 2011 when GMG Entertainment was acquired by Topps creating the Topps Digital Services division. Mr. Mickeal has spent the majority of his professional career at the intersection of digital entertainment, media, technology and consumers. Prior to the acquisition by Topps, Mr. Mickeal was the Chief Operating Officer of GMG Entertainment, Director of Finance and Operations at Yahoo! Music and Entertainment, Chief Financial Officer of Launch Media, Inc. and a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  As the Chief Financial Officer of Launch Media, Inc. Mr. Mickeal managed the company’s digital media operations from the pre-product start-up stage to going public.  Launch Media, Inc. was sold to Yahoo! and became Yahoo! Music where Mr. Mickeal managed the finance and operations for Yahoo! Music and Entertainment. Mr. Mickeal is a CPA and has a B.A. in Business/Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Global Partnerships & Licensing

Stephen Chriss

Vice President of Global Partnerships and Integrated Marketing, Mr. Chriss oversees key partner relationships and manages marketing activation strategies across Topps’ global businesses.  Joining Topps in 2019, Mr. Chriss brings extensive experience in traditional consumer products marketing, sports and entertainment partnerships, celebrity endorsement relationships and integrations across all forms of consumer touch points. Prior to joining Topps, Mr. Chriss led a marketing activation team focused on driving market effectiveness and digital transformation at Pinnacle Foods. Prior to Pinnacle Foods, Mr. Chriss spent 18 years with Mondelez, serving in many roles and ultimately as Head of North America Marketing Services, Activation and Strategic Partnerships, where he led all aspects of consumer engagement, major talent and sponsorships and integrated multi-brand campaigns. Earlier in his career, Mr. Chriss served as Director of Client Services at Contemporary Marketing, Inc. on the Coca-Cola brands, Manager of Operations at TBS for the 1994 Goodwill Games and Director of Sports Development for the NYC Sports Commission.  Mr. Chriss has a B.A. in History from the University at Albany.
