By the looks of the guy with the yellow shirt and the wide open sky behind Tigers catcher Lance Parrish in this transparency from 1983, this is clearly spring training. Squatting with a glove on is Parrish's natural predisposition. He was a heck of a catcher and won a Gold Glove that season.
