The 1977 New York Yankees were Back On Top! They had to wait 15 years to reclaim this title which is nothing for most franchises (ask Cubs fans), but must have seemed like an eternity for Yankees fans.

  • Acrylic, wool blend hat
  • Embroidered logo
  • Adjustable snapback strap
  • Authentic Topps by Red Jacket hat

This set of six buttons features a bicentennial look from 1976, the last of a long span of year’s in which the New York Yankees endured a championship drought. They went on to break this drought in 1977.

  • Set of 6 buttons featuring Chris Chambliss, Ron Guidry, Ed Figueroa, Reggie Jackson
  • 2.5" diameter
  • Pinned metal back

It isn’t too hard to recognize these Yankees nicknames, perhaps with the exception of Puff. Puff is third baseman Graig Nettles. Graig was given the nickname by teammates because he was known to disappear after playing a practical joke or starting trouble.

  • Set of 6 patches featuring Graig Nettles, Ron Guidry, Lou Pinella, Catfish Hunter, Bucky Dent, Willie Randolph
  • Set of 6 nick name patches
  • High quality felt backed
  • 100% embroidered
  • Each patch measures 3.5" x 1.5"
  • Iron/Sew on

For baseball fans, the best memories of the 1977 Yankees are Mr. October’s three homers in Game 6 of the World Series. Amidst swirling tension and one of the most emotionally trying times in New York City history, the Yankees were able to overcome the turmoil by riding the fiery passion of manager Billy Martin, great hitting from Reggie Jackson and Thurman Munson, and unbound scrappiness from Sweet Lou and Bucky Dent. This combustible mix put them “Back on Top” while keeping them on the back pages in the Big Apple.
