NEW YORK, July 13, 2011 – The Topps Company, the leading creator and marketer of sports cards, entertainment products and distinctive confectionery items for over half a century, today announced their agreement with Christian Lopez, the 23-year-old NY native who caught Derek Jeter’s historic 3,000th hit.
As part of the deal, Lopez will be an honorary Topps employee for a day and will be immortalized in an upcoming Topps set with his own Topps autographed rookie card. In addition to the autographed card, Lopez will be given the responsibility of choosing the image of Derek Jeter’s 2012 Topps Series 1 card which will be available next February.
