Fresh off an 11-season stint with the Montreal Expos, Gary Carter spent his first spring training with the New York Mets in 1985. This image was taken in Florida before Carter's first season in the Big Apple. If Mets fans weren't impressed with Carter's defensive abilities or winning personality already, they soon found out what he could bring to the table. In his first game donning orange and blue, he knocked a tenth inning homer off Neil Allen and the Cardinals on opening day in a 6-5 victory and his smile was a pure as it is in this transparency.
*In order to convey better color and clarity, transparency was scanned and enhanced.
