ABOUT PLAYER PORTRAIT POSTER SHOP
The Topps Vault has been unlocked, releasing hundreds of never-before-seen player portraits to the market. All aspects of these portraits are designed to preserve the authenticity of the original image. This authenticity extends through to the manufacturing process, as each print is manufactured in the United States using sophisticated digital technology to capture a level of detail that is absolutely breathtaking.
Willie Stargell was one of the most popular Pirates ever, perhaps only surpassed by Roberto Clemente. Stargell, the 1979 NL MVP and seven-time All-Star was, voted into the Hall of Fame in 1988. In a bit of tragic irony, Stargell died on April 9, 2001, which was also the day the Pirates' current park, PNC Park, hosted its first regular-season game. The team unveiled a statue of Stargell two days prior but he was too ill to attend.
