Frank Buck was a legendary, globe-trotting, big-game trapper and an American icon in the first half of the last century. A hunter who boasted of never killing an animal except in self-defense. Buck's motto was "bring 'em back alive," which he sufficiently did in helping provide North American zoos with many of the animals he captured. In 1950, the 100-card set of Frank Buck's Bring 'Em Back Alive Jungle Picture Cards was issued based on Buck's lifelong exploits.
