No-one flew higher or crashed harder in the 1960s and 1970s than Motorcycle Daredevil Evel Knievel. Knievel boasted that he had broken every bone in his body at least once, and if you viewed his Caesars Palace and Wembley Stadium crackups, you believed his boast! His death-defying jumps over cars and buses were regularly broadcast nationally in the U.S. on ABC's Wide World Of Sports. Youngsters on bicycles imitated Evel's wheelies. The flamboyant Knievel always admonished his fans to "Keep Your Word" and "Get In And Try". In 1974 Knievel's failed attempt to jump a mile over the Snake River Canyon in Idaho was a closed-circuit TV sensation, and Ideal's Knievel Sky-Cycle toy was a top-seller. Evel's son Robbie has followed in his dad's footsteps. In the Autumn of 1974 we issued our 60 Card and 22 Sticker Evel Knievel Picture Cards & Sticker Set to commemorate Evil's colorful career and his Snake River Canyon jump.
