- Elvis Aron Presley was born into a poor home in Tupelo, Mississippi in January 1935, and he passed-away in his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee in August 1977. To many music enthusiasts he was, and always will be, "The King Of Rock & Roll". Mid 1950s appearances on "The Steve Allen Show" and Ed Sullivan's "Talk Of The Town Show" helped propel Elvis as a national sensation. In 1956, Elvis' "Heartbreak Hotel" was his first million-selling single and he starred in his first film, "Love Me Tender". In 1956 Topps issued our 66 Card Set featuring Elvis' budding Music career in tandem with scenes from his debut Movie performance in "Love Me Tender".
