History

Thirty years since the Beatles last recorded as a group, and twenty years after John Lennon's death, the Beatles Anthology and The Beatles "1" Greatest Hits CD have been topping the publishing and music charts in America. In February 1964, the Beatles stepped off their Pan Am flight in New York, played to a national audience on the Ed Sullivan Show, and spearheaded the British invasion of the American music scene. Beatlemania, the Fab Four, the Cavern Club, Beatle haircuts, Liverpool, Beatle wigs, the Mop-Tops, Beatle outfits, and screaming teenyboppers were all the rage in 1964. Topps issued 7 Beatles Card/Plak Sets in 1964 (3 B&W Sets, 1 Color Set, 1 Color Diary Set, 1 B&W Hard Days Night Set, and 1 Color Plak Set).
