America's beloved comic character, with a whopping $50,000 grand prize. Topps Confections, the creator of Bazooka Bubble Gum, is commemorating Bazooka Joe's big year with an instant win game. Inside one specially-marked pack of Bazooka? a game piece reading "Instant Winner!" will give someone way more than a burst of flavor.
"For years, Bazooka Bubble Gum chewers have been trading in comics for prizes and premiums - everything from mini cameras in the 1960s to personalized dog tags in the 1980s," said Gail Sirota, Brand Manager for Bazooka Bubble Gum. "On this anniversary occasion in 2003, we thought we'd offer the best prize yet - $50,000 in cash - to one lucky Bazooka fan. As Bazooka Joe always says: 'A penny saved makes cents'. Topps will also be unveiling a whole new look for America's favorite chunk bubble gum, with the first significant packaging change in Bazooka's history. Soon the recognizable Bazooka Bubble Gum of your childhood will only be found in the collections of the most avid Bazooka enthusiasts, as the classic, all-American gum takes a newer, bolder face. And for a limited time, every piece of Bazooka will contain one of 50 select historical comics reprinted in honor of Bazooka Joe's anniversary.
Bazooka Joe's 50th Anniversary Game officially began on May 1st of this year and will run until July 15, 2004.
